Map 1: Population
• Explore data in ArcCatalog
• Open ArcMap and add: World_Countries, Americas_Admin, Mex_Boundary
• Select by attributes "CNTRY_NAME" "Mexico"
• Create new layer and export
• Label POP_ADMIN field in World_Countries layer
• Adjust font and add graduated color by quantities with 6 classes
• Label Mexican States
• Add map elements
• Export as JPEG GISCarto_Map1
• Save as GISCarto_Map1 in S drive

Map 2: Rails, Rivers and Roads
• Open GISCarto_map1 and save as GISCarto_map2 in S drive
• Turn off Mex_states and add: mex_rails, mex_rivers, mex_roads and mex_urban
• Edit symbology properties for mex_rivers to only show Major and Primary rivers
• Edit symbology properties for mex_roads to show only Federal
• display mex_rails with standard rail symbol
• Edit label properties for mex_urban to show only cities with population of 1000000 or more
• Annotate labels for mex_urban layer and adjust label size
• Create new data frame and add World_Counties
• Zoom to Central America
• Create an inset map by adding the Layers data frame under "extent indicators"
• Add map elements
• Export as JPEG GISCarto_map2
• Save as GISCarto_map2 in S drive

Map 3: Elevation Map
• Open GISCarto_map2 and save as GISCarto_map3 in S drive
• Remove all layers except for World_Countries
• Unlabel World_Countries layer
• Add mex_elev and select a stretched color ramp
• Add inset map
• Add map elements
• Export as JPEG GISCarto_map3
• Save as GISCarto_map3 in S drive
